Life cycle of
THE PALM TREE
GERMINATION
0 – 1 Years
The fruit (seed) provides nutrients as the initial shoot and root system emerge. At this stage, the plant is highly dependent on the fruit’s stored water and nutrients.
Life cycle of
THE PALM TREE
JUVENILE
1 - 4 Years
A period of intense growth in which the palm establishes a robust root system and forms its basal trunk. Juvenile leaves are replaced by mature, palmate leaves, and the plant does not yet produce fruit.
Life cycle of
THE PALM TREE
PRODUCTIVE
4+ Years
The palm reaches maturity and begins continuous flowering and fruiting, producing its characteristic fruits (coconuts, dates, etc.), while the trunk continues to elongate throughout the rest of its lifespan.
